CASTINE, Maine – April 1, 2013 - Maine Maritime Academy Athletics, Residential Life and Activities and Bands Committee are hosting events this month – including family-friendly current movies – which are free and open to the public.
CASTINE, Maine – Maine Maritime Academy’s Career Services and Loeb-Sullivan School of International Business and Logistics is hosting a seminar on Thursday, April 11th from 4-6 p.m. The seminar is designed to educate participants on working in a union environment in the U.S. or overseas. The event is free and open to the public and will be held in the Delano Auditorium in Leavitt Hall on the MMA campus.
CASTINE, Maine – Americans are increasing awareness of childhood health issues: Michelle Obama started her “Let’s Move” campaign, the National Football League has its “Play 60” campaign, and even the latest season of the popular weight-loss show, The Biggest Loser, challenged Americans to face the causes of childhood health problems.
CASTINE, Maine – Maine Maritime Academy’s Marine Transportation department will present a lecture addressing the legal and geo-political issues surrounding international maritime piracy Thursday April 4th at 6 p.m. in Delano Auditorium.
CASTINE, Maine – Vernette June Eaton, 89, passed away March 9, 2013 at Maine Coast Memorial Hospital. Vernette worked at Maine Maritime Academy from December 1969 to October 1985 in a variety of capacities; she was the school’s telephone operator and also worked as front desk associate, greeting visitors and performing numerous administrative duties.
