Maine Maritime Academy Students Begin Year With Orientation, Ship Jump and Training

Castine, Maine—The incoming class of students at Maine Maritime Academy (MMA) will begin the 2013-2014 year with Orientation in three sessions to be held August 18 - September 1. MMA Orientation includes the following:

  • Regimental Preparatory Training (begins Sunday, August 25th)
  • MUG Olympics, Friday, Augustth
  • The annual Ship Jump, Sunday, September 1st

MMA Convocation to Focus on Pride

Dr. William Brennan, President of Maine Maritime Academy (MMA), today announced that the college will host its 4th annual Convocation on Monday, September 2, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. in the Alexander Field House. Members of the Castine community are invited and encouraged to attend.

Maine Maritime Academy Announces Quarterly Board of Trustees Meeting

The Maine Maritime Academy Board of Trustees will hold a regular quarterly meeting on Friday, August 9, 2013, at 8:30 a.m., in the Holmes Alumni Heritage Room, located on the lower level of the Harold Alfond Student Center on the college campus in Castine, Maine.

MMA Sponsor Families Wanted

Maine Maritime Academy is seeking local families interested in serving as a sponsor to an out-of-state freshman student for the upcoming academic year. The Sponsor Program was created to increase the interaction between MMA students and Castine townspeople on a personal level. Students can enjoy a “home away from home” and learn about the people and town of Castine.

Maine Maritime Academy to Overhaul Cardio Fitness and Weight Rooms

Facilities Upgrade a Campus-Wide Effort

CASTINE, Maine—One of Maine Maritime Academy’s most popular hubs for student and community activity will receive an overhaul during the next two weeks. The Academy’s Cardio Fitness and Weight Rooms are slated to receive new equipment and other upgrades as part of a campus-wide initiative spearheaded by the Department of Athletics and Recreation, with financial assistance from the Student Life Department.
