 AT SEA – HOMEWARD BOUND

We got underway this morning at 0800 passing the sea buoy at 0930 and headed to the northeast on a course of 070. The weather, which had been nice the past several days, became overcast with rain squalls at 0730 and has grown progressively worse. The seas have gone from a flat calm to now 10 to 12 feet with 25 knot winds from the southwest. It’s time to regain our sea legs and check our stowage for sea.

Today was the first day of T 10 training. For the engineers, it is the first day of flashlights for the 4/C. This is the final phase of the training sessions for this cruise as each company will complete this portion over the next three days.

Despite the rough seas, everyone remains in good spirits as we are heading home. Preparations are being made to receive the over 240 guests aboard for our Parent’s Cruise from Searsport to Castine. We’re certainly hoping for better weather. We have grown accustom to blue skies, warm sunshine and calm seas!
