At Curacao

Sun, Sand, Snorkeling, Diving, and generally spending time relaxing on the beach have been the order of the day while here in Curacao. Also, Saturday was a pretty good shopping day if the bags and packages coming back aboard are any indication. But whatever they’re doing, all hands appear to be enjoying what the island of Curacao has to offer. It seems that Curacao is a vacation destination for the Europeans, where Aruba is the destination for many Americans. The third island of the “A, B, Cs” is Bon Aire, which is a diving destination no matter what your nationality.

We’re looking for another full day of liberty Sunday. This will come after Utility Company gets the trash off the ship, and does a general clean-up. This means a tentative liberty time of around 1000 for the cadets to depart the ship.

People are planning trips to various locations around the island. I think the weather is something we can certainly count on  -  Sunny, warm, and windy! Not bad and especially so when we hear that family and friends back home in Maine are enjoying (???) damp weather??
