Aspirations Outreach

ProgramsEducation is what Maine Maritime is all about. MMA Admissions, our faculty, staff, and facilities play host to various outreach programs to individuals, groups and organizations from around the world.

College Aspirations Programs

  1. Discovery Voyage - Demonstrates how classroom instruction relates to "the real world" is the focus of this on-campus program. Maine high school students apply their math and science knowledge in a number of ways: aboard our oceanographic research vessels, in our engineering operations labs, and during an international business role play. See a college "in action". Free lunch.
  2. Admissions 101 - A highly interactive program where high school freshmen & sophomores serve as the Admissions Committee for Dirigo State University and make decisions on who is qualified for admissions. This cost-free program comes to your high school and introduces students to the college application process.   3. Service Academy Information Night - MMA hosts this very informative program for the young men and women who wish to pursue admission into the service academies. All these highly competitive and respected institutions are represented along with representatives from Maine's congressional offices and a number of colleges offering alternative commissioning and scholarship opportunities.
