STATEMENT OF THE JOB

 

Employee is responsible for overseeing and maintaining the residential complex assigned. Employee assists in creating and implementing a positive residential and academic environment for resident students. Employee may provide input for budget and report preparation.

 

DUTIES OF THE JOB

1.      Employee provides a professional staff presence in the residential complex, and serves as a liaison between students and the Associate Director of Student Services and other academy administrators.

2.      Provides resident students with academic, personal and vocational counseling.

3.      Under supervision of the Associate Director of Student Services, employee is responsible for the selection, development, training and supervision of the Resident Assistant staff.

4.      Serves as Chair of the Residential Hearings Board, investigates violations of Academy regulations by residents and determines accountability of offenders.

5.      Provides room inventory control and key distribution, as well as student room assignments.

6.      Coordinates security and emergency response needs with Safety and Security, the MCDO/Curtis MOOD watch and duty Resident Assistants as necessary.

7.      Participates in ongoing inspections of residence hall physical plant and grounds, to insure academy and government standards of health, safety and cleanliness. Also assists in monitoring residence hall maintenance and custodial duties.

8.      Provides assistance/liaison as needed to other areas of student services.

9.      May provide support to the Conference Department on an as needed basis.

     Level of support will be determined and approved by the Associate Director of Student Services.     

10.  May supervise student and/or regular Academy employees.
