Employee reports to the Director of Fiscal Operations and is responsible for budget monitoring and forecasting, consolidation of financial reports, ad hoc reporting, financial modeling/auditing, performing variance analyses and collaborating with IT for the development and production of financial reports. Additionally, it is expected that the incumbent of this position will gain a working knowledge of all aspects of Finance Department responsibilities and operational procedures (i.e. accounts payable and receivable, student accounts, payroll, etc.) in order to both effectively perform the specific duties of the job and provide functional backup as necessary.
1. Assists in the analysis, extraction and interpretation of financial data for the
purpose of determining past performance and/or to project financial probabilities.
2. Prepares cost/benefit and statistical analyses of data reported in the various
financial systems and provides recommendations related to projects and/or programs as requested.
3. Conducts internal audit reviews of various campus functions including but not
limited to accounts payable, dining services, conferences, purchasing, travel vouchers and petty cash routines.
4. Records, classifies and summarizes financial transactions and events in
accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.
5. Assists in the development, review and oversight of various Academy
financial policies, procedures and report generation.
6. Collaborates with IT in the development, updating and implementation of
the most current technological capabilities for the finance department including but not limited to electronic travel vouchers and on-line access to student loan and/or payment information.
7. Uses various software applications, such as spreadsheets, relational
databases, statistical packages, and graphic packages to assemble, manipulate and/or format data and/or reports.
8. Assists in the administration of all financial aspects of Federal, private and
State grants.
9. Assists in the preparation and submittal of information to various internal and
external organizations.
10. May supervise regular or student employees when necessary.
