STATEMENT OF THE JOB
Employee (1) serves as head coach for one MMA varsity athletic sport; (2) works to advance the mission of Maine Maritime Academy by planning, organizing and implementing strategies to increase the level of personal involvement and financial commitment of alumni and friends; and, (30) carries out other athletic and development responsibility as assigned by the Director of Athletics and the Vice President for Advancement.
DUTIES OF THE JOB
1)Employee serves as head coach and recruits for one assigned MMA Varsity Athletic Sports Team.
2)Employee supervises athletic testing and conditioning.
3)Employee assists with the issuance and maintenance of athletic equipment.
4)Employee maintains team statistics and related data.
5)Employee must be familiar with, and abide by, all rules and regulations of Division III and NCAA guidelines.
6)Employee works with the Vice President of Advancement and the Athletic Director to establish fundraising goals for the Athletic Department.
7)Employee plans and implements fundraising event strategies to achieve those goals.
8)Employee manages a portfolio of major gift prospects with special emphasis on alumni, parents and friends with connections to athletics.
9)Employee plans, manages and executes Golf Tournaments and other special events as assigned, coordinating the work of athletic and development office staff.
10)Employee oversees any and all athletic team fundraising efforts to ensure that they are conducted in accordance with academy priorities and do not conflict with other fundraising activities.
11)Employee attends events and meetings which facilitate contact with prospects and donors.
12)Employee achieves targeted fundraising goals for Athletics and assists with other fundraising efforts as assigned.
13)Employee provides coaching, teaching and other athletic related duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics.
14)Employee may supervise students and/or regular Academy employees.
