STATEMENT OF THE JOB

 

Employee performs skilled work and supervises in the carpentry trades area, and semi­skilled work in a variety of other trades areas. Work involves maintenance, new construction, and repair of buildings and facilities.

 

DUTIES OF THE JOB

 

1.    Performs skilled work in the carpentry trades area and maintenance and repair work in other trades areas as assigned.

 

2.    Ensures proper equipment and supplies are available and in stock to complete jobs.

3.    Orders and purchases tools, equipment and supplies.

4.    Recommends improvements, changes and new techniques to a supervisor.

5.    Performs interior and exterior carpentry work in the construction, remodeling, repair and maintenance of buildings and facilities.

6.    Coordinates activities with other trades on projects assigned and may supervise other trades on assigned projects.

7.    Operates power tools and hand tools associated with a variety of trades areas.

8.    Supervises student and/or regular Academy employees.
