STATEMENT OF THE JOB
Employee performs semi-skilled work in a variety of trades areas. Work involves maintenance and repair of equipment, facilities, and grounds. After nine years of full-time, continued service in this classification, and upon the recommendation of the MMA Director of Public Works, incumbent employees shall be eligible for a management reclassification to the Building and Grounds Maintenance Mechanic and Trades Worker II position.
DUTIES OF THE JOB
1. Performs semi-skilled installation, maintenance and repair work in one or more of the following trades: boiler operation, plumbing, electrical work, HVAC control systems, carpentry, painting, and locksmith work.
2. Performs routine maintenance and repair work not requiring a license in other trades areas.
3. Performs rough carpentry work involved in the remodeling, repair and maintenance of buildings and facilities.
4. Performs painting work.
5. Performs maintenance on grounds and road ways.
6. Services and maintains vehicles and equipment.
7. Operates power and hand tools associated with a variety of trades areas.
8. Requisitions materials and supplies.
9. May supervise student and/or regular Academy employees.
