JOB TITLE: Assistant Director of Waterfront Services and Officer in Charge of the Tug Boat

STATEMENT OF THE JOB
Employee serves as the assistant director of waterfront services and is responsible for the Academy tug boat. Employee must possess applicable U.S. Coast Guard license. Employee has a high degree of public contact representing the Academy. Employee may provide input for budget and report preparation.
DUTIES OF THE JOB
1. Employee serves as master and chief engineer of the Academy Tug.
2. Responsible for the maintenance, and overall condition of the Tug.
3. Responsible for the maintenance and operation of the towing program barge.
4. Responsible for the inspections and maintenance of the barge berth.
5. Assists waterfront director in the operation and supervision of department duties, including: vessel repair, boat deliveries, operation of the Summer programs, purchasing Academy special programs, equipment repair, maintenance of floating equipment, and the ongoing waterfront maintenance program.
6. Responsible for compliance with safety regulations.
7. May supervise student and/or regular Academy employees.
