Employee reports to the Commandant and acts for the Commandant in his absence. Employee manages all aspects of the Regiment of Midshipmen, including their personal safety and well-being. Employee is responsible for creating and maintaining a regimental atmosphere which fosters leadership, honor, loyalty, devotion to duty; while promoting pride and professionalism. Employee acts in the above capacity both on campus and on cruise, whether in port or at sea. Employee may provide budget and report preparation.
1) Oversees the daily routine of the Regiment.
2) Supervises the Company Officers and the Administrative Coordinator.
3) Investigates all midshipmen disciplinary infractions to determine if there is probable cause for action, and adjudicates major and minor disciplinary infractions as necessary.
4) Coordinates regimental formations, ceremonies and special functions.
5) Manages the regimental inspection system.
6) Conducts Midshipmen personal and disciplinary counseling.
7) Coordinates and teaches Personal Development classes.
8) Develops, plans, and assists in the selection process and training of the Midshipmen Training Officers, Mentors, and Midshipman Rates.
9) Administers the Staff Watch Officer bill and stands duty as Staff Watch Officer during cruise and Regimental Preparatory Training as necessary.
10) Maintains sensitive and confidential midshipmen performance and discipline files.
11) May participate in the student recruiting process.
12) Oversees the administration of the drug testing program for Academy students during the academic year and for Regimental students while on cruise.
13) Oversees purser activities, Customs and Immigration requirements, and postmaster activities while on the annual training cruise.
14) Supervises students and regular Academy employees.
