STATEMENT OF THE JOB
Employee performs technical duties in support of Academy application systems. Work requires substantial understanding of system integration methodologies and independent judgment. Employee is responsible for existing application system patches, backups, upgrades and troubleshooting as well as end user support and may interface with application system vendors as necessary.
DUTIES OF THE JOB
1. Performs system design, programming, testing, implementation and maintenance of application systems.
2. Assists with tuning application databases and monitors performance and other system variables making adjustments when necessary to enhance system performance.
3. Designs programs for special reports, data transfer requests and the import and/or export of data from Academy application systems.
4. Responsible for database maintenance, problem solving and end user support.
5. Assists Application Systems Manager with planning, testing and implementation of all phases of systems conversions.
6. Works with other Academy employees as well as outside contractors to support applications.
7. Assists with testing and implementation of patches and upgrades to
application systems.
8. Responsible for manipulating databases to correct problems as necessary.
9. Responsible for backups of various application and network systems.
10. Responsible for writing technical procedures, user documentation and developing internal system documentation as well as problem logs.
11. Trains employees on the use of Academy Application Systems.
12. Assists the Network Manager and Application Systems Manager with the account creation process.
13. May supervise Academy employees and/or students.
