- American Dream Scholarship
The Sallie Mae Fund American Dream Scholarship offers scholarships ranging from $500 to $5,000 to African-American students with financial need enrolled in a two or four year title IV accredited college or university. This scholarship is open to incoming freshmen as well as current undergraduate students.
- The American Legion Scholarship
The American Legion of Maine developed this scholarship for post freshman students.
- American Society of Naval Engineers
The American Society of Naval Engineers (ASNE) sponsors scholarship program to encourage college students to enter the field of naval engineering.

Established to recognize and show appreciation to the men and women of Maine who served their country in Iraq or Afghanistan during the post-September 11 conflicts.

The Sallie Mae Fund developed the First in My Family program in partnership with the Hispanic College Fund, to offer scholarships to Hispanic-American students who are first in their family to attend college.

- Maine Community Foundation
The scholarship funds in this section are administered by the Maine Community Foundation for the benefit of Maine residents. Please note that each scholarship has its own application requirements, review process, and application deadline and that many scholarships are limited to residents of specific counties or graduates of specific high schools.
- The Maine State Society of Washington, DC Foundation
The Foundation raises funds and awards scholarship assistance to students who are Maine citizens or residents attending accredited four-year degree-granting educational institutions in the State of Maine.
- Marine Corps Scholarship
The Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation is a non-profit, tax exempt corporation of volunteer men and women dedicated to providing financial assistance in the form of scholarships for higher education to deserving sons and daughters of United States Marines and children of former Marines.

The MES Foundation administers scholarships on behalf of several Maine companies and organizations for Maine students.
- Mitchell Institute
Mitchell Scholars must be Maine students enrolling in a four-year degree program or a two-year degree
program at a college or university, and must be planning to enter their first year of college in the fall.
- Science, Math, and Research Transformation (SMART) Defense Scholarship Program
The DoD will offer these scholarships and fellowships to individuals who have demonstrated ability and special aptitude for training in science, math, and engineering.

The program is designed for a marketing, advertising, or communications student who is seriously interested in a career in direct marketing.

The Sallie Mae 911 Education Fund was created in response to the terrorist attacks that occurred on September 11, 2001 . The scholarship program is open to children of those who were killed or permanently disabled as a result of the terrorist attacks.

Sallie Mae Fund's Project Access Program: Students from low-income families can now get additional financial
assistance through a new scholarship from The Sallie Mae Fund, a charitable organization funded by Sallie Mae. The Sallie Mae Fund Unmet Need Scholarship Program will supplement financial aid packages for low-income students by
providing funds to cover financial need not met through typical financial aid channels, including grants, work-study, loans and other scholarships.

USA Funds is accepting applications for two scholarship programs to help lower-income students pay for
higher education. By completing and submitting one application, students may qualify for both scholarship opportunities.
- United States Coast Guard
The College Student Pre-Commissioning Initiative (CSPI) is a scholarship program for college sophomores.
