Welcome! Maine Maritime Academy strives to make an MMA education affordable to all qualified applicants and enrolled students whenever possible.
The Financial Aid Office administers various federal, state and institutional aid programs to help MMA students finance their education. We award and process financial aid for MMA students and advise students and their families, the campus community, and the general public on issues related to financial aid.
We know that the financial aid process can be confusing and very stressful, especially if you are counting on financial aid to make it possible for you to attend college.
Our goal is to help you understand the variety of assistance options available to you and help you navigate the many steps involved in applying for financial aid.
The Opportunity Maine Program - Important Information
MMA is a proud supporter of Opportunity Maine, a program that was passed by the Maine State Legislature in the summer of 2007. It became effective on January 1, 2008. The program provides a state income tax credit for student loan payments made by degree earners who live, work and pay taxes in Maine after graduation. As an alternative, Maine businesses can make the educational loan payments for their employees and then those Maine businesses can claim the tax credit. The Financial Aid Office wants to be sure that all students are aware of the program and take the necessary steps to enroll in the program. To learn more, click here.
IMPORTANT - To be considered for any financial aid from Maine Maritime Academy, you must submit a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
