Castine, Maine—Captain Robert J. Peacock, II, Chairman of the Board of Trustees at Maine Maritime Academy (MMA), announced today that Governor Paul LePage will address graduates at the college’s seventieth commencement, Saturday, May 4, 2013.
CASTINE, Maine – High school students from Deer Isle-Stonington, Bucksport, and the Maine Central Institute came to Maine Maritime Academy (MMA) Wednesday, February 13 to take part in the Junior Achievement of Maine’s state-wide Titan Challenge, a day-long virtual business competition. The event was hosted by the Loeb-Sullivan School of International Business and Logistics. The competition was also sponsored by Travelers Insurance.

CASTINE, Maine – Maine Maritime Academy (MMA) has once again been listed in the rankings of the nation’s top regional colleges for the northern region in the 2013 edition of “Best Colleges” by U.S. News & World Report. The Academy was ranked in the top 10 in sections titled, “Best Regional College (North Region) and Best Public Regional College (North Region)”. MMA placed 8th overall in the listing of North region colleges and 3rd overall in the listing of North public region colleges. The North region encompasses the area spanning from Maine to Maryland.
CASTINE, Maine - The Maine Technology Institute has awarded nearly $500 thousand dollars to the Maine Maritime Academy to pursue research in hydrokinetic energy. The Maine Hydrokinetic Cluster grant is the first large research grant of its kind for MMA and heralds some of the work expected by MMA’s Center for Engineering and Applied Research. The grant was awarded in partnership with and supported by a consortium of Maine's Hydrokinetic Industry leaders led by the Maine Composites Alliance.
