CASTINE, Maine – The Honorable Paul LePage, Governor of the State of Maine, will address the graduating class at the Maine Maritime Academy (MMA) Seventieth Commencement on Saturday, May 4, 2013, at 11 a.m. in the Alexander Field House.
CASTINE, Maine – April 1, 2013 - Maine Maritime Academy Athletics, Residential Life and Activities and Bands Committee are hosting events this month – including family-friendly current movies – which are free and open to the public.
CASTINE, Maine – Maine Maritime Academy’s Career Services and Loeb-Sullivan School of International Business and Logistics is hosting a seminar on Thursday, April 11th from 4-6 p.m. The seminar is designed to educate participants on working in a union environment in the U.S. or overseas. The event is free and open to the public and will be held in the Delano Auditorium in Leavitt Hall on the MMA campus.

CASTINE, Maine – Vernette June Eaton, 89, passed away March 9, 2013 at Maine Coast Memorial Hospital. Vernette worked at Maine Maritime Academy from December 1969 to October 1985 in a variety of capacities; she was the school’s telephone operator and also worked as front desk associate, greeting visitors and performing numerous administrative duties.

CASTINE, Maine - Maine Maritime Academy students, officers, and crew are finalizing plans for the Training Ship State of Maine to visit ports in southern U.S., Puerto Rico and Canada as part of the college’s annual two-month training cruise to foreign and domestic ports of call. This year’s training cruise itinerary includes Tampa, Fl. May 17-19; San Juan, Puerto Rico May 28-30; Baltimore, Md. June 8-10; Quebec, Canada June 20-22; and Eastport, Maine June 29. The ship will host a family day sail on the return leg from Searsport to Castine, arriving in Castine on June 30th.
CASTINE, Maine – Maine Maritime Academy recently named students to their Dean’s List for outstanding academic achievement in the first semester of the 2012-2013 academic year. Students named to the Dean’s List earn a grade point average of 3.3 or above on a 4.0 scale.
