*Maine Maritime is a member of the New England Regional Student Program and, therefore, eligible students from New England states that do not have similar academic programs pay the Maine in-state tuition rate plus 50 percent ($13,200). Residents of Puerto Rico, Quebec and the Canadian Maritime Provinces are also eligible.
*Under the NERSP, the following MMA majors are available to students from the states indicated:

- Marine Biology: CT, VT
- Marine Science: CT, MA, NH, VT
- Marine Systems Engineering (4 yr.): CT, NH, RI, VT

Students from the following states and Puerto Rico, enrolled in the USCG unlimited merchant marine officer licensing programs, qualify for in-state tuition rates ($8,800):

- Marine Engineering Technology: CT, RI, NH, VT, PR
- Marine Systems Engineering (5 yr.): CT, RI, NH, VT, PR
- Marine Transportation: CT, RI, NH, VT, PR
Room & Board
On-campus charges for 2012-2013:
$9,548 All on campus students.
- For financial aid calculations, off-campus students not living at home will receive the same allowance.

The following fees are required of all students:

(MEO, MET, MSE, MTO students)

All matriculating undergraduate students are required to be enrolled in a medical insurance plan.
Each student must provide proof of insurance or participate in the Academy-sponsored medical insurance plan or purchase MMA's plan for $698, subject to change.
U.S. Coast Guard User Fees
Students pursuing a U.S. Coast Guard license are advised that the Coast Guard will charge fees for:
- lifeboat exams
- license application evaluations
- documents (i.e. USCG license, Merchant Mariner's documents, TWIC card, etc.)
These fees are not included in the aforementioned tuition and fees requirements and are paid directly to the Coast Guard as required.
Uniforms
- Approximately $2,400 for a "seabag", required for regimental students.
Financial Statement
An audited Financial Statement is produced following the end of each fiscal year. For a copy, please request one by writing to the Maine Maritime Academy Office of Administration, Finance, and Governmental Relations.
The Academy reserves the right to make changes in its rules, regulations, procedures, degree requirements, and fees.
