Computers, Email, and the Internet
Maine Maritime Academy now requires all
entering students to have a laptop computer and printer. MMA provides internet access and a campus
wide network to facilitate instruction and communication.
- Email is provided
to all MMA students for the duration of their enrollment.
- Wireless
connectivity is available throughout the campus and on the ship.
- The Campus
Portal is updated daily to keep student, faculty, alumni, and family
abreast of activities and schedules on campus.
- Course
Home Pages allow faculty to present their courses electronically.
MMA’s Information Technology Department now
offers an optional Laptop Purchasing Program. If you choose not to participate in the MMA Laptop Purchasing Program,
MMA does not endorse a particular brand of laptop. View our laptop guidelines, requirements, and

We realize that requiring this computer
represents an additional cost to attending college. We are committed to
ensuring that this does not prevent anyone from attending Maine Maritime.
Therefore, if you are unable to secure the necessary funds, call the MMA financial aid
director for possible alternative financing.
